High winds
I'm sure loads of other in UK are having high winds... I just had sustained 35mph winds, no gusts and it took out several fence panels, antenna supports (even guyed) and a G7FEK I had just put up so I'm off air for a bit.
My 7.2m Tecadi mast & G7FEK been ok in the nasty WX. It surprises me how good the Swiss army pegs and mast is. All stainless steel marine grade fixings and plates. 1 guy line is fixed to a metal brace in the garden back wall, the other 2 by the Swiss army pegs (Al section with steel head) in the garden lawn. The tall houses that block the DX signals also protect me from the wind.
Interested to hear what you think of the G7FEK and your counterpoise/ground wire arrangement.
I have a Tecadi mast at 7.2m supporting a G7FEK too. 1 guy to the back wall in the garden and 2 to Swiss army pegs (Al variable section & stainless steel head) in the lawn. I am surprised on how well they work.
I am interested to hear what you think about the G7FEK and what is your arrangement for counterpoise and ground wires.
